Support Services

How I Assist

I offer a variety of support services personalized for each client. Depending on when you hire me, I provide advice on everything from nutrition and exercise to developing a birth plan and picking the right birthing facility. Our Prenatal sessions consist of discussing your birth circumstances, practice positions, and your partner’s hands-on support. We'll go over specific questions you're concerned about, plan for when to leave for the hospital in order to spend as little time there as possible. We'll talk about what to expect when you are there, preparation for baby's homecoming, and the early postpartum period. I will be available to answer questions in early labor via text/call. Our postpartum sessions cover breastfeeding/chestfeeding, bottle feeding (if necessary), your healing, processing of the birth, your changing relationship with your partner or family, and anything else you might want to discuss during your journey.

Prenatal Visits: In-person or Virtually

Informative and Compassionate

For our prenatal visits, we will be getting to know each other on a personal level and I get to find out how you're feeling and what we can do to improve your mood and prepare you and your partner for labor. As your doula, I'd like to be informed of all doctor's visits and updates in late pregnancy. I will be educating you and your partner on what's to come, and you will help me help you by picking and choosing different methods to help you during your last weeks in pregnancy and finding comfort during all phases of labor/make a personalized birth plan. We will make a birth plan weeks or months prior to labor and might change last minute if you please. I will refer you to a prenatal chiropractor if the client wants the option. Will refer you to local resources for postpartum, breastfeeding/chestfeeding help, resources to support your partner(s) as well. Having two prenatal appointments with me virtually or at your home, we will discuss your birth preferences in detail, including coping techniques, birthing positions, how your partner can help, cesarean, or VBAC options(Vaginal Delivery After Cesarean), and postpartum preparation. I will be on call for your birth beginning at 37-42 weeks in your pregnancy; I will be available to you at all times. That means I will be available 24/7 via text, phone, or email or in-person

Offering Support

When the big day comes, I will remain by you and your partner's side. My support stays the same during cesarean births by offering continuous educational, emotional, and physical support to you and your partner either in person or via Facetime. I will be present for the entire birth process and will remain with you 1-2 hours after delivery to offer breastfeeding support and help you and baby(s) get settled in. Can call or facetime me prior to going into labor to make sure it's time. The goal is to mentally, emotionally, and physically prepare you and your partner. As soon as labor starts I am available to you and your partner via text, call, video call throughout all the phases of labor. Postpartum Support & Chestfeeding Support

Here for You in Person or Virtually

Bringing baby home can sometimes be the hardest part of the birth journey.  Having in-home care to help you learn how to swaddle and soothe, read newborn cues, learn to feed by breast or bottle, teach you to use a wrap or baby sling. Handling baby centered chores so you can rest, and support your postpartum healing will help the "fourth trimester" go so much more smoothly by fostering your confidence as new parents and reducing the incidence of postpartum mood disorders. For postpartum visits virtually, we'll be talking about what's going on with the baby for the next few weeks, how partner(s) can help; we'll talk about the baby's feeding cues, what helps during postpartum physically and emotionally, check-in on the birthing person mentally and physically.

Placenta Encapsulation

Raw (Simple) Method or (TCM) Traditional Chinese Medicine Method

Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing the birthing person’s placenta. The blood is rich in iron, hormones, and stem cells which are great benefits for you and baby. The preparing process is cleaning and rinsing, then either dehydrate it raw or after it's steamed, then ground and placed into capsules for you to ingest. The purpose of it is to reintroduce the beneficial vitamins, minerals, hormones, proteins, and other nutrients to their body following labor and birth of their child. This is thought to help restore a more balanced body function, prevent “baby blues” and the more serious postpartum depression, increase milk production, shorten healing time, increase energy levels, and provide an over-all feeling of wellness to aid in the transition between pregnancy and the early postpartum period.
