Placenta That Wasn't Ingested But Not Wasted, See Newer Post

Not all placentas can be encapsulated. Well i can still do the process, but it's not suggested to ingest if we think it's a no-go.

Client gave birth last night but baby passed meconium(poop) in utero so her care provider advised not to encapsulate. I asked her the common questions, "was there an infection? Do you still want me to do it?" All up to them, so they decided to go through with it, usually meconium can be rinsed with Apple cider vinegar and steamed for a safer consumption but as you can see the fetal side is super discolored meanwhile the maternal side looks normal(lemon side) I asked my teacher and she said it does look funky on the fetal side. It's better to be safe than sorry. So either way I am drying the bits and parents get to take the placenta dried bits home in a planter so we can return the placenta back to the earth 🙏🏼 and the service is not wasted. i repeat not all placentas can be encapsulated. I will make a post on my Thanksgiving doula client who had a normal placenta so you guys can see the difference.
